What NaBloPoMo Did for Me

I started my blog just about 2 months ago. I had no idea what my "niche" was (still don't, really) or what I wanted to write. I just knew it was something I wanted to do. I've always loved writing, but it has been a long time since I had really sat down and written. This seemed like the perfect excuse.

At first, I was worried about coming up with things to write about. What do I have to say? Why should anyone care what I have to say?  So there was a lot of staring at a blank white box on my screen with the occasional post resulting. Then along came NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month. Write 30 posts in 30 days). Perfect timing. Now, I had already been a NaNoWriMo dropout, so it was really important to me to finish NaBloPoMo. I needed to prove to myself that I could stick with it.

I did stick with it, and that feels really good, but there's a more important result also. I've got momentum! I've got a habit of writing daily. Ideas no longer have to be pulled out of my head, kicking and screaming. I'm a writer again!

So I'm in it for the long haul now, y'all! I have so much to tell you about. You know all about my darling daughter, but I gave birth to a boy child too. Wait until I tell you about HIM!
