Bringing You Up to Date

Well, it's been awhile since I last posted and I thought you should be brought up to date.

I've turned 60 since the last time I posted. I still look something like the woman in the upper right hand corner. Sort of.

I'm still married to my Hillbilly.

And Alyssa from NearNormalcy.com is still my daughter.

On the other hand, The Princess is a TEENAGER now!

She's still adorable!

THE BIGGEST NEWS IS I'VE RETIRED FROM TEACHING!

That's right! My Hillbilly and I have retired and moved to the land of his birth, Missouri. Let me tell you, that's been a big adjustment for this California girl!

I've had to get used to having views like this from my front porch!

Yellow and orange sunset through trees in Missouri

Trees casting long shadows in Missouri yard

And sometimes the neighbors come to visit.

So I think I'd like to write a few blog posts about my adventures in moving and the changes in my life. That is, if anyone is still out there? Do I have any readers? If so, would you mind just saying Hi in the comments?

    1. Hi! So glad to hear from you. I'm only 4 months behind you, so I'm not that young.

  2. Hi Mrs. Meents!! I was a student of yours in the 2017-2018 school year. I’m now a student at cal poly studying mechanical engineering!! I was thinking about you today while browsing online for long denim skirts, one of your signature outfit pieces. How has retirement been treating you?

    1. Hi, Alexa! It's good to hear from you. Cal Poly! That's a big deal. I'm proud of you. Retirement is great. I'm rested and enjoying country living. We have time to travel and enjoy spending time with the grandkids. Thanks so much for getting in touch with me. You put a smile on my face to go with my morning coffee.
